was born in Bahrain in 1914. His father Ali Yateem was Bahrain first pharmacist. Hussain was studying in Brighton Grammar School in England for four years. He opened the country’s first cinema in 1930

In 3 Aug 1939, Mr. Hussain Ali Yateem traveled to New York city on the Washington US lines Ship from France, the purpose was to visit the New York World’s Fair of 1939.
Mr. Hussain Yateem visited the carrier Air-conditioning section and was impressed with carrier’s newest air conditioner. Mr.Yateem decided to buy one to test and then he returned to Bahrain.
Mr.Hussain Yateem wrote a letter to Carrier Company proposing to them that he want to be Carrier’s agent in Bahrain. Carrier approved on the agency request. Mr.Hussain Yateem became the first Air-conditioning agent in Bahrain.

Hussain bin Ali Yateem died in Manama, Bahrain on 18 December 2015 at the age of 101 years. He is currently one of the oldest known man from Bahrain.
